We collect information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Service, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Service, or otherwise when you contact us.
To access our Services, you must create an account, providing specific details that are essential for facilitating your usage. Upon account creation, we require specific details like email, password, gender, and age to effectively deliver our Services. Your profile information, such as display name and username, is publicly accessible. You have the freedom to use your real name or an alias.
When configuring preferences through settings, we collect this information to ensure they are respected, potentially resulting in personalized content delivery.
As you engage with our Services, we collect information on your usage to efficiently provide Services, enhance the overall security and friendliness of the Opingo community, and tailor your experience.
We collect information on your activity using Opingo, including content you share, such as posts, along with related details like content, posting dates, Opingo application used, and version information. Your interactions with content from other users, involving actions such as votes, likes, shares, comments, and replies, are also collected. This includes how you interact with other Opingo users, including those you follow and those who follow you. If you reach out to us through email or other means, we collect information about the communication and its content. We also compile information about the links you engage with across our Services, including interactions within the emails we send you.
We collect information from and about the devices you use to access Opingo, which encompasses important connection details such as your IP address, browser type, and associated information. Moreover, we collect information about your device and its settings, such as the device type, operating system, carrier, language preferences, available memory, and battery status. In cases where you choose to share it, we also collect information from your device's address book.
We may receive information as you view content on or interact with our Services, encompassing details like IP addresses, language, operating systems, referring webpages, access times, visited pages, location, mobile carriers, device information (including device and application IDs), search terms, and IDs (even if not entered as formal queries). Furthermore, we collect log information when you click on, view, or interact with links within our Services. This includes instances where you install another application through Opingo.
- Account and profile information, such as name, age, gender, username, password, email, and profile image.
- User-generated content, including text, comments, photographs, videos, and hashtags that you choose to create with or upload to the Services (“User Content”) and the associated metadata, such as when, where, and by whom the content was created. Even if you are not a user, information about you may appear in User Content created or published by users on the Services. When you create User Content, we may upload or import it to the Services before you save or post the User Content (also known as pre-uploading). If you apply an effect to your User Content, we may collect a version of your User Content that does not include the effect.
- Messages, which include information you provide when you compose, send, or receive messages through the Services messaging functionalities. They include messages you send through our chat functionality when communicating with your friends and within groups whether private or public. That information includes the content of the message and information about the message, such as when it was sent, received, or read, and message participants. Please be aware that messages you choose to send to other users of the Services will be accessible by those users and that we are not responsible for the manner in which those users use or share the messages.
- Information, including text, images, and videos, found in your device’s clipboard, with your permission. For example, if you choose to initiate information sharing with a third-party platform, or choose to paste content from the clipboard onto the Services, we access this information stored in your clipboard in order to fulfill your request.
- Your phone and social network contacts, with your permission. If you choose to invite and connect with your contacts and/or to find other users through your phone contacts, we will access and collect information such as names, phone numbers, and email addresses, and match that information against existing users of the Services. If you choose to find other users through your phone or social network contacts, we will collect your public profile information as well as names and profiles of your contacts.
- Networks and connections. We collect information about the people, accounts, hashtags and groups, you are connected to and how you interact with them across our Services, such as people you communicate with the most or groups you are part of. We also collect contact information if you choose to upload, sync or import it from a device (such as an address book or call log or SMS log history), which we use for things like helping you and others find people you may know and for the other purposes listed below.
- Your usage. We collect information about how you use our Services, such as the types of content you view or engage with; the features you use; the actions you take; the people or accounts you interact with; and the time, frequency and duration of your activities. For example, we log when you're using and have last used our Services, and what posts, photos, videos and other content you view on our Services. We also collect information about how you use features like our camera.
- Things others do and information they provide about you. We also receive and analyze content, communications and information that other people provide when they use our Services. This can include information about you, such as when others share or comment on a photo of you, send a message to you, or upload, sync or import your contact information.
- We use third-party analytics tools to help us measure traffic and usage trends for the Services. These tools collect information sent by your device or our Services, including the web pages you visit, add-ons, and other information that assists us in improving the Services. We collect and use this analytics information with analytics information from other Users so that it cannot reasonably be used to identify any particular individual User.
- Your choices and communication preferences.
- Information to verify an account such as proof of identity or age.
- Information in correspondence you send to us, including when you contact us for support.
- Information you share through surveys or your participation in challenges, research, promotions, marketing campaigns, events, or contests such as your gender, age, likeness, and preferences.
- Things others do and information they provide about you. We also receive and analyze content, communications and information that other people provide when they use our Services. This can include information about you, such as when others share or comment on a photo of you, send a message to you, or upload, sync or import your contact information.
- Metadata. When you upload or create User Content, you automatically upload certain metadata that is connected to the User Content. Metadata describes other data and provides information about your User Content that will not always be evident to the viewer. For example, in connection with your User Content the metadata can describe how, when, where, and by whom the piece of User Content was created, collected, or modified and how that content is formatted. It also includes information, such as your account name, that enables other users to trace back the User Content to your user account. Additionally, metadata includes data that you choose to provide with your User Content, e.g., any hashtags used to mark keywords to the video and captions.
Device InformationAs described below, we collect information from and about the computers, phones, and other web-connected devices you use that integrate with our Services, and we combine this information across different devices you use. For example, we use information collected about your use of our Services on your phone to better personalize the content (including ads) or features you see when you use our Services on another device, such as your laptop or tablet, or to measure whether you took an action in response to an ad we showed you on your phone on a different device. Information we obtain from these devices includes:
- Device attributes: information such as the operating system, hardware and software versions, battery level, signal strength, available storage space, browser type, app and file names and types, and plugins.
- Device operations: information about operations and behaviors performed on the device, such as whether a window is foregrounded or backgrounded, or mouse movements (which can help distinguish humans from bots).
- Identifiers: unique identifiers, device IDs, and other identifiers.
- Device signals: Bluetooth signals, and information about nearby Wi-Fi access points, beacons, and cell towers.
- Data from device settings: information you allow us to receive through device settings you turn on, such as access to your GPS location, camera or photos.
- Network and connections: information such as the name of your mobile operator or ISP, language, time zone, mobile phone number, IP address, connection speed and, in some cases, information about other devices that are nearby or on your network, so we can do things like showing more relevant content to you.
- If you choose to sign-up or log-in to the Services using a third-party service such as Facebook, Instagram, or Google, or link your Opingo account to a third-party service, we may collect information from the service–for example, your public profile information (such as nickname), profile picture, email, and contact list.
- We may receive information about you from others, including where you are included or mentioned in User Content, direct messages, in a complaint, appeal, request or feedback submitted to us, or if your contact information is provided to us.
- We may also collect or receive information about you from organizations, businesses, people, and others, including, for example, publicly available sources, government authorities, professional organizations, and charity groups.
2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?
We use the information we collect for improvements and a more personalized experience of our Services, for safety and security purposes, for measurement and analytics, for communicating with you about our Services, and for research purposes, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
3. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company. Affiliates. We may share your information with our affiliates, in which case we will require those affiliates to honor this privacy notice. Affiliates include our parent company and any subsidiaries, joint venture partners, or other companies that we control or that are under common control with us. Business Partners. We may share your information with our business partners to offer you certain products, Services, or promotions.
Opingo content, including profile information, is accessible to the general public, both on the platform and potentially through external search engines. Depending on settings and your Opingo activities, interactions with others on the platform, such as likes and follows, may be shared with other Opingo users. We may disclose your information if required by law, to protect individuals' safety, prevent harm, address security concerns, or uphold public interest. This can involve complying with legal processes, explaining content removal, combating fraud, and ensuring platform integrity.
4. HOW DO WE HANDLE YOUR SOCIAL LOGINS?
Our Services may offer you the ability to register and log in using your third-party social media account details (like your Facebook or Google logins). Where you choose to do this, we will receive certain profile information about you from your social media provider. The profile information we receive may vary depending on the social media provider concerned, but will often include your name, email address, friends list, and profile picture, as well as other information you choose to make public on such a social media platform.
We will use the information we receive only for the purposes that are described in this privacy notice or that are otherwise made clear to you on the relevant Services. Please note that we do not control, and are not responsible for, other uses of your personal information by your third-party social media provider. We recommend that you review their privacy notice to understand how they collect, use, and share your personal information, and how you can set your privacy preferences on their sites and apps.
5. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements).
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
6. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?
We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 12 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 12 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent’s use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 12 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, which may be express and/or implied consent depending on the applicable law, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us by using the contact details provided in the section "HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?" below.
However, please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal nor, when applicable law allows, will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.
If you would at any time like to review or change the information in your account or terminate your account, you can upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. However, we may retain some information in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our legal terms and/or comply with applicable legal requirements. You also have the ability to access, modify, or change the information you furnished to us by editing your profile and adjusting your account settings.
In order to safeguard your privacy and ensure security, we implement measures to authenticate your identity prior to providing access to your personal information or fulfilling requests for deletion, deactivation, or similar actions. There may be instances where we decline your request for access, correction, or portability, such as when you are unable to verify your identity.

We may update this privacy notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Revised" date and the updated version will be effective as soon as it is accessible. If we make material changes to this privacy notice, we may notify you either by prominently posting a notice of such changes or by directly sending you a notification.
